I've worked in dentistry since I graduated from dental assisting school in 1994.  After a few years at a general practice in my hometown of Modesto, I left for San Francisco, happy to score a new job at the office of one of the Co-Founders of the AACD and a true pioneer in comprehensive dentistry. It was here that I learned about the micro and macro esthetics of smile design, as well as how to consider occlusal issues and other risk factors prior to treatment planning. My five years of guest service experience with The Walt Disney Company helped to give me the gift of gab with regard to treatment acceptance. I love talking with patients and that comes across in the way I communicate with them to improve their understanding of the recommended treatment.

Photography can be a very powerful tool in treatment acceptance so it was imperative that I learn how to do it and do it well! I've become proficient not only in how to take photos, but also how to use them to gain treatment acceptance. Having perfected these skills, I now share my knowledge with other dental professionals and have been doing so since 1999.

While the use of photography is an excellent way to communicate cosmetic and some functional issues to patients, precision occlusal records are required to truly consider all risk factors prior to treatment.  I understand bite interferences and how they can be corrected through equilibration with bite adjustments or restorations. Most importantly, I can effectively communicate the functional aspect of recommended treatment to gain acceptance from patients.

Having acquired such valuable skills over the years spent learning from my mentors in comprehensive dentistry, I now work to pass these skills along to my fellow dental professionals in the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond. I've worked with dentists all over the United States and have even had the opportunity to teach at the UCLA Department of Continuing Dental Education, as well as at the International Dentist Program at the UCSF School of Dentistry.

I am presently working independently as a consultant and coach for dental teams to better their hands-on clinical skills, as well as improve their rate of treatment acceptance. I'm a Dental Board of California Continuing Education Registered Provider, a Certified CPR Instructor and I serve on the Dental Assisting Program Advisory Board for Carrington College in Emeryville, CA. I'm also a certified applications trainer for DEXIS, Gendex and Instrumentarium-Soredex, providing hands-on instruction for the hardware and software for all 2D and 3D digital imaging systems. I love working with dental teams in all aspects of dentistry and making learning fun is one of my specialties! :)
